The MC14015BDR2 is an IC (integrated circuit) from ON Semiconductor’s 4000 Series of shift register chips. It is a 16-pin SOIC 150mil package, with a maximum operating voltage of 18V. The chip supports RoHS compliance. It is a 4-bit shift register, which can be used to store data and easily shift or move it in a particular direction, in this case, rightwards. The data is shifted out in serial format and must be serially loaded in order to take effect. This makes it ideal for use in serial communication or other applications which require data to be rapidly shifted between two converging pathways.
