The L7812CV from STMicroelectronics is a linear, fixed voltage regulator with a 12V output and a maximum current output of 1.5A. It operates with a wide input voltage range of up to 35V. It is a TO220 type through hole mounted component with a pin configuration of (1)- IN+, (2)- GND, (3)- OUT. Its pin pitch size is 0.51 – 0.6mm. The L7812CV is suitable for use in applications such as automotive and telecoms equipment. This voltage regulator is able to dissipate heat efficiently and is stable with low output noise and good line regulation. The L7812CV is available in a number of surface mount packages.
