The M93C56-WMN6TP is a 2 kilobit (2K) electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) device manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is available in a small 8-pin package and operates on a supply voltage range between 2.5V and 5.5V. This device is a member of the M93C family of Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) compatible parts that are optimized for use in automotive, professional, and consumer applications.The M93C56 has built-in logic to support single (sequential) and multiple (Paged) write operations for improved set-up time and increased reliability in ownership of data. It is also protected against inadvertent write operations due to externally induced bus contention. Data within the device is organized as 16 x 16 bits, with the MSB providing array block select identification.The device contains two additional byte addressable static random access memory (SRAM) blocks, which can be used to store user identification/encryption or data protection codes. The M93C56 also supports nonvolatile write and read interrupts. An external oscillator can be applied to reduce the active write time. This device is available in RoHS compliant automotive grade packages and is fully compliant to JEDEC Standards.
