Applications General All types of resistive, inductive and capacitive Inrush current active management by loads power limitation Suitable as LED driver Very low standby current 3.0V CMOS compatible inputs Description Optimized electromagnetic emissions The VNQ5E050MK-E is a quad channel high-side Very low electromagnetic susceptibility driver manufactured in the ST proprietary In compliance with the 2002/95/EC VIPower M0-5 technology and housed in the tiny european directive PowerSSO-24 package. The VNQ5E050MK-E is Very low current sense leakage designed to drive 12V automotive grounded loads Diagnostic functions delivering protection, diagnostics and easy 3V Proportional load current sense and 5V CMOS compatible interface with any microcontroller. High current sense precision for wide currents range The device integrates advanced protective Current sense disable functions such as load current limitation, inrush Overload and short to ground (power and overload active management by power limitation) indication limitation, overtemperature shut-off with auto-restart and over-voltage active clamp. Thermal shutdown indication Protections A dedicated analog current sense pin is associated with every output channel in order to Undervoltage shutdown provide Enhanced diagnostic functions including Overvoltage clamp fast detection of overload and short-circuit to Load current limitation ground through power limitation indication and Self limiting of fast thermal transients overtemperature indication. Protection against loss of ground and loss The current sensing and diagnostic feedback of of V CC the whole device can be disabled by pulling the Overtemperature shutdown with auto CS DIS pin high to allow sharing of the external restart (thermal shutdown) sense resistor with other similar devices.
